Yes, it&#039;s funny, I don&#039;t think I ever came across Reinert anywhere since first reading &quot;The Other Canon&quot; -- it seems unfortunate that he&#039;s not better known, though I think Stiglitz, in his insistence that &quot;one size does not fit all,&quot; may be the mainstream economist who comes closest.

I&#039;m no longer a student of economics or international relations, so I haven&#039;t had occasion to take the ideas further, but I&#039;m always interested to see authors who challenge prevailing dogmas and orthodoxies as these two have, and who value concrete evidence over and above ideology when evaluating policies.</description>

		<description>I am fascinated that you put both these items together. I too was struck by these two authors approaches more than anything else i&#039;ve read in some time. Have you taken the ideas any further.

I&#039;m currently doing development work in Busia Kenya. Lots and lots of ivy league development types floating about. None of them aware of Reinert.
